Stumpys Bunches is a destination wedding florist creating art-led, romantic florals for weddings across Melbourne, Australia and South Island, New Zealand.
Stumpys owner, Shaina, grew up in New Zealand and still returns regularly, which means NZ weddings aren’t a “fly-in vendor” situation, they’re part of how this business lives.
We plan our seasons with care and design using locally sourced blooms whenever possible.
Why couples book us for New Zealand weddings
New Zealand weddings are different. The light is sharper, the wind is real, venues are often remote and timelines rarely run like a city wedding day. Flowers need to be considered carefully; what travels, what survives coastal conditions and what actually looks right in the landscape.
Our approach is intentionally natural and slightly untamed. We design arrangements that feel like they belong in the environment rather than competing with it, garden-grown textures, seasonal colour palettes and installations that photograph beautifully without looking over-styled.
Where We Work
We primarily design for weddings throughout Canterbury including Lyttelton, Christchurch and Banks Peninsula. We also happily travel for the right celebration.

If your venue involves a hill, a paddock, a jetty or unpredictable wind, we’re very comfortable there.
How Booking From Overseas Works
Most of our New Zealand couples are planning from Australia or overseas so our process is built around distance.
We plan via video consults, create moodboards and seasonal guides specific to your wedding month and coordinate directly with your venue and planner so you’re not managing logistics from another country.
Flowers are sourced locally in New Zealand where possible (until our very own flower farm takes root!) and we travel over to design and install in the days leading up to your wedding, if we're not already there.
You won’t need to organise transport, storage or pack-down - we handle all of it.
New Zealand Seasonal Flowers
Because New Zealand seasons slightly differ from Australia, we guide you toward flowers that actually exist during your wedding month.
Canterbury summers bring beautiful garden roses, sweet peas and cosmos, while autumn weddings lean into dahlias and textured foliage.
We prioritise local growers and seasonal product so your flowers feel connected to place rather than imported.

Our work sits somewhere between editorial and garden-grown.
Soft but not traditional, romantic without being overly polished.
We’re known for natural bouquets, sculptural ceremony installations and reception tables that feel considered but relaxed.
The goal is always the same: flowers that photograph beautifully and still feel like you.
New Zealand Travel Dates
We're in New Zealand more often than not each wedding season.
Couples booking within those windows avoid large travel fees so it’s always worth enquiring even if your wedding is soon.
If your date sits outside our planned trips, we can often still make it work by grouping nearby weddings.

Stumpys Bunches is the brainchild of Shaina Glenny - a wedding snapper turned petal pusher. With a sharp eye and a wilder heart, she whips up bunches with flair for any kind of day, big or small.
