Stumpys Bunches is a destination wedding florist creating art-led, romantic florals for weddings across South Island, Aotearoa.

We plan our seasons with care and design using locally sourced blooms whenever possible.

Why couples book us

Aotearoa weddings are different. The light is sharper, the wind is real, venues are often remote and timelines rarely run like a city wedding day. Flowers need to be considered carefully; what travels, what survives coastal conditions and what actually looks right in the landscape.

Our approach is intentionally natural and slightly untamed. We design arrangements that feel like they belong in the environment rather than competing with it, garden-grown textures, seasonal colour palettes and installations that photograph beautifully without looking over-styled.

Where We Work

We primarily design for weddings throughout Canterbury including Lyttelton, Christchurch and Banks Peninsula but we travel far and wide throughout the South Island.

If your venue involves a hill, a paddock, a jetty or unpredictable wind, we’re very comfortable there.

How Booking From Overseas Works

A lot of our couples are planning from overseas so our process is built around distance.

We plan via video consults, create moodboards and seasonal guides specific to your wedding month and coordinate directly with your venue and planner so you’re not managing logistics from another country.

Flowers are sourced locally in New Zealand where possible (until our very own flower farm takes root!) and you won’t need to organise transport, storage or pack-down - we handle all of it.

We guide you toward flowers that actually exist during your wedding month.

Canterbury summers bring beautiful garden roses, sweet peas and cosmos, while autumn weddings lean into dahlias and textured foliage.

We prioritise local growers and seasonal product so your flowers feel connected to place rather than imported.

Our work sits somewhere between editorial and garden-grown.

Soft but not traditional, romantic without being overly polished.

We’re known for natural bouquets, sculptural ceremony installations and reception tables that feel considered but relaxed.

Stumpys Bunches is the brainchild of Shaina Glenny - a wedding snapper turned petal pusher. With a sharp eye and a wilder heart, she whips up bunches with flair for any kind of day, big or small.
